The Boise Figure Skating Club
Standing Rules
Boise Figure Skating Club Standing Rules
1. The club relies on volunteers to meet all of its staffing needs…there are NO paid employees. We try to keep
membership dues as low as possible. Therefore, all full club members are expected to volunteer each year or pay
the "opt out" fee. Sign up sheets for various events – competitions, exhibitions, and other activities – will be
posted at the rink. If you can help but have a special situation, such as need to volunteer from home or only during
certain times, or events, contact a Boise FSC board member
2. Membership dues cover only the direct costs (US Figure Skating membership and Skating magazine
subscription, annual party) the club incurs on behalf of your skater. All additional budget items associated with
operating the club (such as but not limited to phone, copier, office supplies, awards, insurance, storage, events
and printing) must be covered through fundraisers. THEREFORE, all full club members are encouraged to
participate in club fund-raising activities so that dues will not have to be raised to cover operation costs. All
members must keep their membership dues current. In addition, competition forms, test fees, or other monies
paid for skating costs to Boise FSC or any other USFS club must be current. If not, the member will no longer be a
member in good standing and will not be allowed to test, compete, or exhibit.
3. Each year, the Boise FSC Board of Directors will determine and budget the assistance for skaters who will
participate in qualifying competitions and for officers to attend The USFS Governing Council Meeting. Fee
assistance for skaters will be made available only for those who have been a full club member in good standing for
at least one year prior to the scheduled event. Fee assistance for skaters will be given after completion of the
event. The fee assistance is at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
